Boars Canyon Guide Service

I was just informed that Boars Canyon Guide Service is the same Ray who we had a problem with last year over the free hog hunts up near Hollister. We recently had a banner ad here for them but I just removed it after realizing it was the same guy.

We feel he was not up front with us and lied to us when we asked specifically if he was starting a guide service when he offered a free hog hunt give away on our forum here. The free hunts then turned into pay hunts and we removed his posts that were solicitations without our approval.

There also were some questions about some pics he posted that he later wanted removed. To me the whole thing stunk and I just don't feel comfortable doing business with them or have them advertise here.

You know, I was going to mention that. I just checked out their site and noticed a pic in there that was posted here on JHO. I didn't want to start up anything, especially if I was wrong.

I did call them to see about a hunt with them in the next few months, may go to the Ham Slam instead.

I was wondering as well...I spoke to him early on last year and he told me he wasnt starting up a guide serive. He was just huntin on a piece of property that his buddys grandparents owned.

. I wont say anything bad about about his operation, since I have never hunted with him. I know a few JHO brothers have hunted with him and liked his services. I just dont agree with his tactics when he first joined JHO.

From the pics and stories it looks like he has a beautiful ranch.
I wish him all the luck in the guideing business. Thats a tough business to start up right out of the gate.
