Wife and I just picked up a 19' Bayrunner. I'm going to replace some of the parts on the trailer, which requires me taking the boat off, so I figure, "why not go fishing?" Launch the boat, catch some fish, work on the trailer with the boat in the water, and head home when it's all done.

Question is: Where does a guy go fishing around here (Berkeley)? Prefer fresh water.

San Pablo resevoir is close to you. It's fresh water. They do charge for entry/fishing/launching.It used to open up in Feb and they had weekly plants of trout....
Although its salt, theres some good Halibut fishing in your area.......Have fun

How far of a run for Halibut? ...and how deep of water are we talking? Also, any idea what the launch fee is for San Pablo?
