My hunting partner, Bowhunting Fool, is going in for back surgery on Tuesday.  I would like to wish him a speedy recovery.  (Or, at least that he's recovered by our October deer and bear hunt.)

Positive thoughts and good juju...

Best of success my friend.

Just to let you boys know - Bowhunting Fool came out of surgery Tuesday evening around 6pm.  I just visited with him today.  He said that the surgery was a success, and the pain is unbearable.  However, I could tell from his story-telling capability that he's fine. Come October, he'll be packing out my big 'ole buck with ease.

Thanks for your posts.

Y'all take care now.

HEY, HEY ,HEY THE BOWHUNTING FOOL IS BACK!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks everyone for the kind words, it really helped my morale to hear from you guys,One track printed them out and brought them for me to the hospital, and I am logging on today for the first time. I just wanted to answer a few of the posed questions, No I did not hurt it pulling my hog from that hellhole, it has been a long running injury I had to 3 ruptered discs in my back for those who know they were the L5 and L2 and S1 disc's I had trouble with, I had tried conservative treatment for a year to no avail so surgery was the next step, However I did not know how painful it would be, as it is the central core of your body and any and all things move from that point. The night after Surgery Wed, 22 I was in absolute AGONY, I have never imagined one could have this much pain and remain alive, I cried like a baby and whimpered throughout the night screamming for my doctor to do something, well finally around 2:00am I got the pain management specialist to come see me and they finally were able to mix me up a little Opiate cocktail that for the first time brought my pain down to were I did not cry anymore. they had given me a self operating pain pump that locks out every 8 minutes and after that 8 were up I could push a button to deliver some meds, well that was worthless as I literally had to lay there and watch the clock so after 8 minutes would go by I could administer the drug. Throw that thing out I said. Well after the Opiate cocktail I was still in a lot of pain but it was much more manageable So every day that went by brought more and more pain relief, so that by Thursday night I was up and walking around the hospital ward. So it was a very life changing event for me and my family as it has brought me a lot closer to my Lord again , I have always beleived and prayed , however I do a lot more now and will continue. And for PaulC I used to chat with you on the old DFG forum, I am the one who told you about Hobo Gulch and the Ammon packing company, I don't know if you remember. But back then you mentioned you were having back issues and were worried about possibly having surgery, All I can say is I do not know how bad you are in pain, and what level of pain you are willing to live with? As for me I was in everday pain and it effected my life a lot and I finally made the decision to go ahead with the surgery, so I say to you it is a personal decision. I also do not know what type of surgery your doctor is recommending? I myself have had a sublateral and lateral fusion of L5, L2, S1, and have had a bone plug taken from my hip and implanted as well as cadaver bones wedged into the disc cavities, I have about 11 ounces of titanium steel plates and screws to hold it all in place, So It was a big surgery and extremely painful, and I made the decision to do it because I was tired of always hurting and taking drugs for pain, and now I am beginning to see the rewards as my pain is diminishing by the day, I no longer have the tingling leg pain running down my legs and am walking normal and healing by the day. So like I said it is an extremely painful procedure and a personal decision you have to make. If you have any more Questions email me and I will try and help, I hope and pray for you it all works out for the best, and to rest of you guys YOU ARE THE BEST GROUP OF HUNTERS ON THE WEB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks for all the Ju,ju,ju,ju
