Just got a phone message that Ed left for me yesterday. His Owens Valley elk hunt lasted all of 30 minutes. He arrowed a 7x7 B&C elk! I'm sure there will be pics posted in a day or so. I imagine yesterday was a lot of work to get the animal properly prep'd for the taxidermist and to care for all that meat in the heat.

I just got back late last night and I am drained. What a hunt!! As BC said I got my bull on opening morning 30 minutes past legal shooting light. Even though the actual hunt didn't last long, my hunt was really five weeks long, trying to put this whole thing together. My plan worked perfectly, almost! I did not hesitate to shoot this bull on opening morning. Perfect 7x7 that should net over 300". Dream come true!!! Every phone call, road trip, scouting trip... contributed to my success. I owe so many thanks to so many people for jumping at the chance to help me out. I will list them later and I will tell the story in detail when I get the chance. Today is my twin daughters, Olivia and Sophia, 2nd birthday party

. I will be celebrating the rest of the day. Here's one pic, I'll post more. Oh yeah, this hunt was professionaly videotaped. Anyone want to see a B&C elk get hit through both lungs with an arrow?
