To celebrate the CR success (and as a moral booster), I brought my big electric griddle to work and cooked some sausage, I made from the Memorial Day CR pig, along with eggs and toast, for the office. I just finished cleaning up. They ate until everyone was full. They really loved it. Only one guy, who doesn't eat pork at all, and my assistant, who will never eat anything I shoot, shyed away from the sausage.
I like promoting the hunting of food in this way. I usually have a venison chili pot in the fall too. I'm thinking of adding a wild turkey day too.

Great Idea!

I have to keep it quiet now when I shoot wild game. Everybody in the office wants some.

Yeah man! That's what started the venison chili day, too many people wanting some of the kill. Now, I can satisfy everyone with 5 or 6 lbs of meat! (and the rest for me (me-me-me)

A few years ago when I came back with some Houston wild boar, I baked 20 pounds of wild pork and brought it to work to share with the guys for lunch. The guys finished the whole 20 lbs. in one sitting. Another time I shared 40 lbs. of deer meat from Texas cooked Spanish style ala "calderetta" and the guys at work wolfed it all down in one sitting at lunch. I share my hunt harvest at work including rabbit meat and they enjoy my cooking. So it is the best way to promote our sport.
God Bless.

I guess I'm going to have to bring a bunch of burgers or bbq venison sandwiches w/ grilled onions for lunch. I wouldn't have any meat left if I brought some for everybody that asked for some.
