I'm watching Ebay for the Bushnell Arc 1000. Anyone have experience with this? I heard in rifle mode it doesn't show the actual yards, it just shows the hold over.

Any pros and cons on this product would be appreciated.

Thanks

One more question, it says when in bow mode is shows the distance up to 99 yards and in gun mode it show the distance from 99 yards to 1000. When in gun mode, will it show the distance below 99 yards or do you have to change the mode setting.

I'm just asking because I like to guesstimate yardages then check to see how close I am, regardless of the distance.

Mel, I got one for Christmas and it seems pretty simple. My Dad has the old Bushnell 800 or what ever and the new 1000 Arc is pretty much the same. Point and get the distance. He and I have tested them out to 600 yards and his won't read all the time and the 1000 does. In bow mode it is really for the angle with the new adjusted distance and also has the true distance as well up to a 100 like you said. In rifle mode it gives the distance and also gives the hold over for the shot. I like it and it is simple with little thought. I got mine when they had the Cabelas deal something like $299 and you got a $150 bushnell 10x42 Binos, a knife $20, and a Michael Wadell video. I gave the Binos to my father in law for his Bday. I like it. Hope that helps. Kurt

Thanks for the reply. I'm looking at several rangefinders, Nikon, Bushnell, Leupold and even the Cabelas CLR 1200 which is made by Bushnell. I keep coming back to the Bushnell Arc.

got one for xmas too, have had a ball trying it out. Especially like being able to set it to ignore the twigs and grass between me and the target. Lovin it so far, but will know better after deer season.

Well, the ARC 1000 seems pretty simple. I've been playing around with it, don't know if I like the target and brush mode or not. I took it out to a field, couldn't range any animals, was trying to find some cows to see how far it would go, but none around. I ranged a water tank at 774 yards, don't know if I'll be able to get the 300 yard range on deer or not, still playing around with it but It seems pretty cool.
