Last week I had a dentist appointment which unlike like some folks I was looking forward to. The assistant that cleans my teeth is a photo nut too, she has a lot of her photos hanging in the office and we always end up talking about photography anyway I mentioned to her that I enjoyed her butterfly shots and told her I haven't had the chance to shoot any, she told me that this week was a good time to go out because they are starting their migration, I felt like yeah right I never see them anyway so I didn't give it much thought. Yesterday morning I was looking out the bathroom window at my wifes flower garden in the back yard and I saw the fluttering wings of butterflies!!!
I couldn't believe it!! I hurried and grabbed the digi and started my hunt. They hung around all day!! and even as I write this they are still out there, I think I took over 50 photos, what follows are the best shots in my opinion. hope you enjoy.

Nice pics, Bro wolf.

From the top, these seem to be:

American Lady or Painted Lady (there's a subtle difference between the two, but I forget what it is).

Giant Swallowtails.

Tiger Swallowtail.

Black Swallowtail.

Nice ones BW. I especially like the last. Has more action, taking to flight into the frame over a great background. Good edit job too. Well done. WB

Browolf,

That second shot is fantastic. Almost looks loke a king snake wrapped up in there.

Good job.
