After reading a lot of reviews I think I have settled on the Pentax DCF SP 8x43, but I have a huge respect of the opinions from members of JHO.
<

1.Does anyone in the form have any opinion on the pentax or first hand experience?
2.With my price range around $500 is their any better bang for my buck in the 8x range?
Will be used for hunting and such.

thank you

I got those binos in the 10X though. They are some awsome glass. Lighter than the swarovskis and I liked them better. I compared them at the local shop. Of course these were the SLC's. If you are getting them new for $500 new make sure its not from a grey market vendor. The cheapest I found them for was $649 I believe. I got mine from bearbasin.com.

Eagle Optics is not a grey market vendor. They have a great reputation and actually advertise on JHO.

Dave is probably right. If thats the price you can't beat it. I would definitly get them. I paid $649 for mine and they are worth every penny. Dave you gonna make it up to the Mono/Pendola area again for the A-zone rifle season?

You could also check out e-bay. They are listed brand new for $409 + $18 shipping. The seller has 2885 feebacks with 99.8% positive rating. e-bay sellers tend to have higher shipping rates to cover some of the lower costs they list things for.

I have purchased many new items on e-bay. Range finder, GPS, walkies etc and have never had a bad experience yet. Just make sure to use a seller with a good feedback rating.

Heads up the people selling those binos on Ebay for that price are definitly Grey Market. I looked into it myself. If purchased from them you wont get the pentax warranty. Buyer Beware.
