But, it did stop all the telephone calls & e-mails to DGF until after the decisions were made.

I figured this would be the real truth... Management of herd numbers was the reason they gave originally. And I still say it's more about money than good management...

I posted this on the other thread but it appears not everyone here has read it so I am reposting it here.

Here is the most current update I have. I mentioned earlier about changing the early season either sex region wide tags to specific zones valid in Bishop, Tinemaha and West Tinemaha. I have recently learned that this is not possible because of the time frame for public review and comment. I also learned that we can ask the Commission to take the no change alternative for this hunt which would leave the hunt as it was last year. That is currently our only option for this year and have that hunt continue. It is not exactly what we would like because of the potential to harvest animals in zones that are below objective. But I think it is the best working solution for this year. I appreciate all the responses I received from people indicating that they truly do want that hunt and are adamant about it. That is currently where things stands and I have been working with the people above me to make the Commission aware of what we are proposing. I am trying to get the web updated with the correct information but this is not done by myself. It should be in Tracks but will be the zone specifc options for the early season. I am trying to get an update on the web with the correct information, the hunt codes should be the same.

Sincerely

Joe

I am not in charge of the web data but am working on getting it corrected. Those are the proposed hunts from earlier and the only change should be the addition of the Owens Valley hunt. They will be updated with tag numbers once the Commission authorizes them.
