Hope none of you guys used Cabela's T.A.G.S. program to apply for your Arizona elk hunts this year.

They didn't deliver in time to meet the AZ deadline. OOPS!

WOW!! If they really did miss the app. deadline they are really gonna have some ticked off clients, cuz not only did those clients miss out on hunts/ bonus points for this year if I am remembering the rule correctly they may have lost their loyalty points for the next five years as well! That may make a big difference when applying for hunts that might take max points.

What? That blows! You pay them good money so that stuff like this does not happen. I'd raise all kinds of hell and I wouldn't quit until there was a gift card in my mail box.

What the heck are you using them for AZ anyway? You have AZ wired.

I'm not using them. I just heard about it. I would bet there is wording in the contract that expempts them from liability.

Now Cabela's is trying to talk the G&F into accepting the apps late.

The commission ruled against Cabelas this afternoon, with the result being just under 600 applicants being rejected. Those applicants will not receive a bonus point for this year, and those individuals will lose their loyalty points as well. Cabelas stated they will not bring a lawsuit against AZGF&D.

Heres your answer from the cabelas site....
<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div>
Cabela's T.A.G.S. is one of the only "full service" licensing programs available to today's sportsmen. From professional consultation on where to apply, to properly filling out and submitting your applications, to FLOATING all the necessary tag fees, we have the easiest, most reliable and most complete service available to assist you in drawing the tag of a lifetime. To us any service that doesn't provide ALL these things is no service at all. Why trust anyone other than Cabela's to handle something as important as your future in big-game hunting.

When you decide you'd like professional assistance with applying for or building preference/bonus points on the very best big-game tags in the country, study this website and/or call our office. The expert licensing consultants of Cabela's T.A.G.S. will then recommend application strategies consistent with your goals. When we make state recommendations and eventually select the proper Game Management Unit(s) (GMU's) we take into account your trophy quality desire, physical ability, point status, time constraints, desire to hunt guided or unguided and most recent GMU data.[/b]

Too bad I put in for NM. This will be a good year in AZ for the hunter that fills out their own paperwork.

yeah you run that risk when you have someone else handle your stuff for you. (i understand a lot of guys use them so they dont have to front the tag fees, which is understandable)

but why in the hell did TAGS wait until the very last possible day to send them in?? i mean come on, give yourself a couple days buffer at least.

The way I heard it, they sent the application package in with plenty of time but the delivery service sent it to Denver by mistake. When they were checking on the tracking and found the error, they immediately hired a courier to pick up in Denver and deliver to Phoenix. By the time the courier got out of the airport and down to Game & Fish, he was two hours too late. Sad it had to happen. One of my buds is now left out of the draw. I hope all the other TAGS applicants put in for my first choice.

I wonder how many are talking to their lawyers about a lawsuit against Cabelas. I smell a "Class action lawsuit" coming

Trust UPS to deliver something important on time? What were they thinking? I worry about USPS, and would never consider UPS for anything important that really has to make a deadline.
