camera choice

Guys I've been around longtime just haven't posted. I need some advice? Looking at buying my wife a digital camera for christmas, last minute shopper! Two cameras at wal-mart are the a-70 canon and the kodak 4530. Can anybody give me advice on which one would be the better camera? It will be used for taking pictures of my kids playing soccer, basketball and i will use it also for hunting . Thanks in advance!

Take a look at this camera.
Panasonic FZ 10.
here are the abbreviated specs:

12X Optical zoom with IS
3X Digital zoom
4.0 Megapixal
Leica lens
2.8 throughout the full focal length!

Another camera is the Olympus 750 ultra zoom

But I impressed with the specs of the Panasonic with the Leica lens. The review say is very good for action shots for sports events.

The FZ 10 is an awsome camera and would serve you well for. It is a more expensive camera at 6 Bills thoe.
The other camera I was looking at was the Olympus 740. A very nice little camera with a 10 optical lens, but it does not have Image Stabalization. So if you use the full zoom you will have some blur in your pictures.

Blacktimber....I've used the 740 for quite some time now and haven't seen a problem with full zoom being blurry....It might be that the focus is picking up on something other than the subject to be photographed...I never carry a tripod with me because it takes too long to setup.
