Hey blast thats great!

We had a 6,000 acre fire in the impact area this weekend and it was a madhouse, with all the game running to the river. I saw about 40 hogs along the river after the fire.

It looks like its going to be a great hunt.

Boartracks, the local media thinks the fire may take a few days to contain.. Any thoughts from within regarding the possibility of closing for the weekend?? Especially with the high temperatures that we are expecting? Thanks for the updates.

I realy don't think so. The fire is almost burned itself out anyway,and it is in the impact area. They were going to burn it anyway. The fire dept is just going to let it burn.We have a lot of fire breaks between the hunt area and the fire.

Too bad we can't get there 'till sunday morning. I'll bet the first day-ers will have some good luck. You don't think they'll be pressured out of the river by sunday morning, do you Boar Tracks?

Just one question, is hunter orange required to hunt on CR?

If not, would people recommed it who have been to CR before? I am just asking since it looks like a lot of people are going to be there and it would be a safe thing to have.

Yes. Hunter Orange is a rule there. I didn't know it and by luck last month I had a hat in my box and was wearing an orange work shirt(construction) and made up for my buddy and I not bringing any.

Regarding hunter orange-Good point for Blastmaster and his young daughter. There will be alot of people this weekend and unfortunately I have seen quite a few idiotic maneuvers out there. Second thought. Bring lots of water as it is suppose to top 98 degrees in San Miguel today which is just across the freeway from Camp Roberts. Good Luck to all.

Its almost that time, I just wanted to tell all of you to bring a lot of water with you,because like the last post said it is going to be hot!!!!!

And there is no swimming in the river,unless you get caught. Also Ifound out the DFG game staff will be short handed, so please understand. At least they are not as$#&#@s like FHL. So good luck.

Just to let all of you to know that the Fire is out, and EOD is going to start there booms today. Hope to see all of you there. I will be at the gate 3 east garison gate at 3:30pm fri if anyone wants to meet up, and again at the gate at 4:300 am sat.

Its almost show time, On sat it might be a little slow through the gate, but please understand,with Gov Davis money cuts we don't have the money to hire more people. But once in I think you will have a great time.Don't forget to bring your fishing pole to,nice trout in the river.

I know most of you have left already,but I for got to tell you that Paso Robles is having one of the biggest custom car shows on the west coast this weekend.So if you go into town you got a chance to see some of the best cars you will ever see. Even Jesse James from Monster Garage on TLC will be there with some of his bikes. Its a big weekend in town.

Sorry guys, I didn't realize this was memorial day weekend, I don't keep track of my calender that close.

When I heard that there was going to be 100's of hunters, that pretty much turned me off.

There was only about 65 hunters today, and as of 1:00pm two hogs had been checked in. A friend of mine from work and me got into a group of four hogs in some thick sh@# and got about 10 feet from them but could not get a good shot. we will try again tomorrow maybe. In total we saw 12 hogs,today,I hope all the others got into them too.
