Camp Roberts November hunts

I'd be there, but I haven't filled my bear tag yet. I would be bad luck anyway, at the rate my season has been going so far (tag soup!). I have both the coming weekends planned for bears.

I will start reading the hog forum from now on. I would have time between x-mas and new year. Anyone going then? I'd be up for a paid hunt as well during that time.

I may be late or have to miss this trip. It looks as though I'm going to hunt through Friday here in CO. If we get to come back to CA in time, I'm there.

Does anyone know if we can drive the base on Friday to get an idea of where the areas are, and where we want to hunt on Saturday? I've never been there and i'd hate to burn the huntable hours of the day looking the area over.

mel they wont let you in till sat but you can pick up the paper work on friday and get a map i have a buddy that is stationed there and he said he has been seeing them in area 4 and 2 we ussally see them in 7 ,4 ,2 and 1 since this is pig only this weekend 2 might be a good choice we are leaving bakersfield at noon friday so we should be there about 2 pm unless we stop by good ol burgers for a bite in paso we will be in a white bronco vern

Well, were back and nothing to show for it except meeting some more JHO'rs

Only 1 hog taken on Saturday morning, heard some shots on Sunday but don't know if it connected. bjake, was it you that shot?

Anyhow, nice meeting you and GUNNER, i'm going to try and get back over there in December, but we'll see how that goes.

No, we didn't take any shots this weekend.

We saw everything but pigs. We saw does, one buck, turkeys, elk, bobcats, coyotes, ducks, and one bald eagle, but no pigs. We did fallow some fresh pigs sign the first day though. The shots you heard (we heard also) was the same guy that got the big sow on Sunday. He shot a bigger pig that was a boar with pretty good size cutters, at least 2.5-3". His brother shot a smaller pig also. They were both right where you and Ruben were on the first morning.

Who's going to make the trip this weekend? After a bad trip to Colorado I need it. I'll be in the big RV at the tracks. You still going Vernon?

yes sir i will be there on friday i only saw one big pig on saturday but didnt get a shot off seen lots of sign in my favorite area make sure you have your shot gun and lots of shot we seen quail for days and the turkeys were still hanging in the same area i seen them last time clint you bringing law dog this trip we had a good time last weekend with mel. rudy and bjake it was fun watching him skin that pig lol those two guys are good pig skinners see you all there vern

lets here some stories. who went to C.R. over the weekend . and what did you see or get.

we where there for sat only one guy got three pig but all we got was quial we seen 4 bobcats 8 deer 1 buck and 1 elk but with the full moon there was a lot of fresh sign but no sightings on our part we hunted hard all day with no breaks but its still fun just going and enjoying the sights vern

I will be going back Rudy. Scott is going too. I have a late deer hunt that runs through the 11th of December. I have to play it by ear till I fill a tag. But we will be there next month.
