Never stayed in the Camp Roberts rooms. The Western States Inn south on 101 a bit from Roberts wants $79 bucks now, that's a rip off. $45 was more like it.

Hunthard, Sack up and support our local economy. Quit looking for a deal as you obviously will spend far more on gas to get here. There is always the tracks if your looking to save a buck or two. Good luck.

$109 is a rip off. Go to Paso and get a Best Western for that kind of money. The Western States Inn guy is gouging now that Roberts is open.

Boycott the Western States Inn and see if his tune changes.

I'm not sure if Roberts has a billeting or not, I don't think so. Roberts' cantonement area is pretty run down since it's NG, nothing like Liggett. If they're talking barracks you probably get a room and no fridge. Probably communal bathroom etc. The price is right and it beats listening to the trains.

FHL billeting is $35 but you have a 45 minute ride to the gate at Roberts.

CR, a few years back had billeting and the rooms were small but comfortable from what I've been told. You can also take your trailers and camp at the CR campground(that's what I did). You check your firearms in when you enter and pick them up before you hunt. I never had to check in my bow though. The good thing about staying on base the 3 or 4 times I've done it was that you don't have to wait in the line out side the gate. You're already on base.

The rooms are in the barracks and decent. Its not the Hilton, but you're hunting anyways. Depending on the building, you'll most likely have a single room and communal bathroom. Some buildings have a little kitchen area and occasionally a fridge. If you go, take a pair of sandals for the shower. You need to check your guns and ammo in when you get there, and before you go out into the field. Make sure you plan 15 mins or so for this process. Lastly, the phone numbers are in the Camp Roberts info on JHO pig hunting page. Good luck...its not a bad deal either.

just got back from Roberts and came up with another hog and my cousin also got his first 215 pounds and 225 pounds. As we walk to the area to hunt Im telling my cousin were the hogs usually come from my cousin looks at me with a scared and surprised look on his face and i look to the right and about 12 or so hogs are looking right at us right in the open at about 50 yards out from us. Then the shooting starts till we have two down. My dad shot at two other hogs the same morning the ridge away from us but came up empty handed we looked for blood but couldn't find any. I was going to stay till tomorrow but we decided to come home and go fishing tomorrow. the pictures are in my picture file under hunt hard i couldnt get them to fit here again. please enjoy

I didnt know that was you by the picture i seen you guys in the jeep with the black hog in the back Congradulations. we were ooking for my dads hog from what he said that when he shot it took off running then it started walking and then he shot 3 more times at it and it was still walking but we didnt find anything. Saturday morning there was hogs all over were we were at. We went back Sunday morning and it was cold i think the hogs hunkered down because there were people in every canyon and no shooting was happening. My cousins stayed and were fishing this afternoon they seen a hog with piglets
but they had there guns put away. it was another good hunt. its good to see other jeepers getting hogs. time to start practicing for bow hunting.

Good job guys! Work is starting to slow down some. I should be able to be at the next one. I need to get out. Been too long. If I don't chime in one of you give me a ring a week before so I can manage to get away. Rudy, if you have the pics on your pc send them via email and I'll post them.
