Camp Roberts

How many of you are going to make this hunt? How many are camping on base? I will be there on base Friday. I hope to meet a few of you over the weekend.

I will also be there on Friday with my father and grandfather, look for a Black F150 supercrew. Hope to meet a lot of JHPers. Can't wait to go!

P.S. Is camping with a tent allowed on Base? or anywhere else around Camp Roberts.

The way I understand it you can't camp on base with a tent. When you get off 101 there is a turn out when a lot of people camp. It's not a campground, just a lot that you can use.

My daughter and I will be there Sunday & Monday. We're rough'n it in the motel6. White Dodge with a polar bear sticker that reads "Great White Hunter", in the rear window.

BLASTMASTER, just out of curiosity how old is your daughter?
I ask because, because my oldest daughter (17 yrs) took/passed her hunters saftey course awhile back and now wants me to take her pig hunting.
I keep telling her she needs more time at the range before I will take her out in the field with me.

I have never been to camp roberts, can anyone help me out. I know how to get to FHL and I know that camp bob is before FHL, but what is the exit off of the 101? and how would I go about getting to gate 3 after I exit? Thanks

From 101 a sign will say East Garrison. Get off there. Stop at the stop sign and turn left. The gate is right there.

I just received a lower jaw from Iran of a big boar that my uncle killed about a 2 months ago, this thing is huge, I will bring it to show all you guys and get the heart rate up just before the hunt (like it wouldn't be up already).

My daughter is just 12, and this will be her first time with the chance to pull the trigger. She's watched to see how I field dress and butcher every animal in the past couple of years. She's helped me scout, and ALWAYS wants to go hunting. She's been working with my little 7mm, that I started hunting deer with at 12 years old myself, and I just got to say ok.

Hey JHP,ers I will be inside the gate when it opens, I will have a 83 grey honda accord. I will have some good Camp Roberts Topo Maps with me so grab me if you would like one. I won't be working sat but I will be there if anyone needs help finding hogs.

Hey slug. and all who will be staying at camp bob. You will have to check your guns at the PMO office safe, if you stay overnight at camp roberts.Then you go out the main gate to gate 3. No guns around main post!!!!

How do we get to the PMO safe? How late are they going to be open on Friday night? What times can we arrive at the base Friday and how late can we still get in?

Its open 24-7 so don't worry, the pmo office is to the right after you enter the gate, just tell the gate staff you need to reg your weapons.
