I see where they changed the reg to allow disabled hunters to use a scope on a muzzleloader. The current reg says:

(f) Under the provisions of a muzzleloading rifle only tag, hunters may only possess muzzleloading rifles as described in subsection 353(a) equipped with open or "peep" type sights only except as describled in subsection 353(k).

Can you use a scoped muzzleloader to hunt pigs at FHL?

My understanding of the regs is that scopes can be used on ML for any hunt, EXCEPT those hunts listed as MA hunts.

So yes, as far as the state's concerned. The FHL miltary rules may not necessarily follow that.

There is nothing regarding scopes and muzzleloaders in FHL hunting regs. I'll tell the guy to call them. Thanks

We have the same situation/question here. Like FHL, VAFB has shotgun/muzzleloader areas. This does not preclude the use of scopes. If you have drawn for a muzzleloader hunt; that means primitive sights (iron or peep). With a doctor's note you can put optics on your muzzleloader. I believe it has to be low power, like 1.5X or less.

The "no scope" rule only applies if you have a Muzzle loader Deer tag or Elk tag etc.
