I'm finally getting some nice weather in the forecast,maybe it won't be long.

Rocket Fuel!!!

I allways wondered how they came up with that bit about mushrooms & rocket fuel???

Some day when I get half drunk I am gonna take my BBQ lighter and see if I can light the stuff over a pan of muchrooms cooking.

Wanted to move to a warmer place anyway!!

Well I never made it out yesterday.Went out to go and car was dead,alternator went out.Made it out first thing this morning after working all night.I wasn't 75yds from the road when I found my first one.I found a half dozen then searched for about an hour when I finally made it back to the same area where I started off.
I then found enough to fill a 8 quart pot.

I feel better now!!

I got a new digital so once I figure out how to download the pics I'll post a pic.
I think I got it figured good enough anyway,here's my mushrooms.It's not that many,but a start.I was kind'a proud of my picture taking,so I thought I'd throw in single mushroom shot to share with you.

How much have you made off selling those mushrooms?

That's unbelievable how many mushrooms you've found.

I sold 100 lbs. from 2 different pickings. The buyer here was paying 6.75 per pound. What do they pay in your part of the country?

I usually don't find enough to worry about having to sell extras.

Two years ago I got to talking about mushrooms with the lady at my post office.She wanted to buy some and I was having a good year so I sold her some.She said the going rate was $10.00 a pound and pulled out a ten.

Wow! Thats a lot of mushrooms to be hauling out of the woods 135. I would see if you could find another buyer though. I've never heard of anybody selling them for less then 10 dollars around here. One year they were getting 17-18 dollars a pound. I haven't heard what the price is yet this year. Also haven't heard of anybody that's found any in these parts yet this year.

The guy I work with has a friend that buys the food for a major hotel here and he said they could buy Morels for $25 a pound!!!

I saw some for sale at Meijurs, they were were asking about $7.00 for an OUNCE of them!!
