The second one looks like Maligne Lake. The area is amazing and the water colr from the glacial run off is amazing. Pics don't quite do it justice !!! Nice shots though, brings back memories of hiking around those glacial lakes.

I had to check. The second picture is most definitely Maligne lake. Here is one of the images on a Maligne lake web site for Jasper National park. The middle pic definitely ID's it. There are a million (OK maybe not a million
<
) lakes up there that look like the first one. Amazing country. I have never been to Alaska (yet) but sure want to check it out.

Hey Dan,

Doesn't mean he lied to you, we just ID'd the area in one of the photos. No shortage of elk in Banff and Jasper National Parks. Jasper is my favarite of all the National parks I have ever been to in either the US or Canada.

Looks like he has registered but not posted anything yet.

Hey all
the pics were taken in Jasper, Nat'l Park. Maligne Lake & Moraine Lake, I do live in God's Country...but not near the park. It is a beautiful place to visit, wildlife abounds on roadsides everywhere. Mountain goats occassional sheep, lots of elk, grizzly are outa site..althought at night time camping ...visitors do show up.. hope i don't have to give Sierra a Map..he might get lost :p

Mojonorth: Great pics, it is amazing up there. I spent a couple of weeks with the wife in Jasper and Banff a few years back. The Ice Fields Parkway drive was my favorite drive anywhere. At one of the hot springs in Jasper we would have the sheep chewing and licking at the under carriages of the vehicles for the salt in the parking lot. A couple of the little buggers were chewing the mudflaps on my truck until I chased them

By all means, these are some beautiful pics! Thanks for putting them up. As I have never seen anything like it in person.
