I live in San Jose, CA and have been trying to go pig hunting somewhere in the area of Laguna Mtn, Condon Peak, etc but my truck is not working and won't be for some time. I'm willing to split gas with anyone who cares to in order to go pig hunting somewhere. Let me know, because this hog fever's got me.

As I understand it, yes it is. I talked to someone on the site here who hunted it recently.

Do you know if it's only open via the walk-in parking or can you 4wd in through the Clear Creek area?

I believe the walk-in parking lot only. The guy I spoke with said he saw lots and lots of fresh signs of hogs up there, but couldn't locate any. That's part of the reason I was tempted to check it out instead of Laguna since fresh sign is always a good sign - no pun intended.

It's a killer hike and brush busting to get up to the productive area. I'm sure that little remote campground up on top are pretty much secluded due to Clear Creek being closed and no vehicle access to it. The private land owner had built a house next to Los Gatos Road a couple hundred yards down from the Condon Peak parking lot. Not sure if the house is occupied or not, but becareful if you head down that boundary line.

Dang...will do, I've shot a compound bow, but not enough to be comfortable to go hunting with one yet. Thanks for the potential offer though, it's appreciated anyway.

Yeh use to be a hard core gunner years ago but the thrill and challenge was gone so one day my good friend suggested if I wanted the ultimate challenge and thrill and passion and reward to hunt agian I should try shooting a bow. The best advice a friend evergave me. Once I shot a bow I lit up like a xmass tree and was hooked for life. After I shot my first big game animal with a bow I knew right there and then I was never going to shoot another animal with a gun anymore. I been shooting for 17 years now and the excitement of hunting and shooting a bow runs through my blood like fire, successfull or not I woudnt trade archery or bowhunting for the world. That's why I am The Roman Archer......tra
