A good friend of mine has a cattle ranch outside of Santa Margarita Ca. I have had the opportunity to kill multiple pigs over there in exchange for helping him guide and as a diesel mechanic by trade I also work on his trucks. My father started me out as a youngster hunting alot. He was never able to go kill anything big due to taking me and working to afford our hunting adventures. This is one way I am able to pay him back for being such an awesome dad growing up. I got to be his guide on his biggest hog. We had started early as most hunts go, spotting our first group of sows and young pigs we had a chance until an curious coyote ran the hogs out of the country. Trying to keep chase we spotted a group of 18 or so hogs heading our way. We made a plan, i grabbed the shooting sticks and we made a ridge top stalk on the hogs. Getting my dad to about 80 yards of the group I picked out this big boar and gave my dad the green light. One well placed shot in the neck dropped the big hog without wasting any precious meat. I was the most memorable hunt to date for me and my dad.
