This past weekend was my third trip to Camp Roberts in less than a year. The place is outstanding! Camp Roberts is clean, has easy access, and the staff are the most friendly and helpfull ever!
This is THE place to bring the kids. It's safe, easy hunting, and BATHROOMS! My daughter just got her first wild pig this past weekend. She's only 12, and has never hunted before. My kids went with me these last 2 times, and we had a great time. We would hunt, and at mid-day, we would get up over the river and have a big picnic.
Camp Roberts is responsible for helping bring sport hunting to the next generations.

Never hunter CR, but have heard so many positive things from hunters that I am making a point to go out fo rthe July AArchery. I think I could be a regular if the season was more liberal. With that said, CR could benefit by not having to pay someone to kill pigs, but to get paid for allowing hunters to harvest animals, and having a place where my daughters could have a quality hunt without having to pay exorbitant quide fees.

Just curious, can you use centerfire rifles there? Muzzleloaders? Is it just shotgun and archery only.? Or do they break it up into areas where you can use rifle in some areas and shotgun/archery in others? If so, are the rifle areas any good? Thanks.

The areas are broken up into shotgun/archery and rifle zones. Of course the rifle areas are good, thats where I shot my pigs from. If I remember correctly Boar Tracks said water was the key to hunting CR. So I guess any zone near the river or a reservoir can be a good place to hunt.

I would love to see more hunts available. I would hunt there more often if it were available.

I have only heard great things about Camp Roberts through JHP. I would love to see more pig hunting there. I just heard about this area and would love an opportunity to hunt there.

Not sure if I can make the July 4th hunt with bow opener for deer the next weekend. But I would like to. I would definitely join in on a future hunt though as I have heard nothing but the best about CR on this site and from some of the JHP'ers in person.

More hunting please. I still need to take my first ever hog

I think it's a great idea to open CR for more hunts. My brother and I went last weekend and had a lot of fun.

I haven't hunted Camp Roberts yet, but it is only a matter of time. I have heard nothing but good about it, and hope to hunt it 3 or 4 times befor the year ends, and then 5 or 6 times a year after that.

July 4th Count me in. Don't pay someone for "Dep Hunts". I'll pay you (season passes) for the opportunity.

Sign me up. I used to do a fair amount of demo work there (EOD out of Fort Ord) and I’d love the opportunity to hunt there.
