Fantastic hunting reports:
Great reading during working hours.
I am green with envy and can't wait to get another trip to Choppers.
Congratulations to A.S. and Lurediver and all you turkey hawks.

I guess better late then never!

So I’s get there on Thursday around 11 am split a cord of wood and around 1 pm I was wondering where is my help? So I decided to start power lifting silver bullets then AS and LD show up and we lift a few more and make plans for the evening hunt. Kirk and I decide to go to the secret spot (not the double secret spot) anyway around 7 pm Thursday we split up AS goes high I go low the wind is all wrong the skeeters are eating me ALIVE there are rabbits running everywhere (from the skeeters).
Then I hear grunt-grunt, here goes the heart thing again, so I start walking to the grunting sound not sure how far AS has got in the 5 minutes we have been apart I go real slow after about 5 steps I hear the squeal of death and I figured he did not get to far down the trail before he shot so I turned around and let the sketters eat me some more. Around 9:20 pm I hear AS walking to the truck but it sounded like he gained about 45 pounds and looked liked he was carrying a suitcase he has a small boar that he took way outside of my hearing range so had I pursued Thursday might have been different.

Friday morning I took buckeyetradarcher to a lower area walked him out to a place he has never seen in his life in the night or in the light of day, so i asked him you got this go that way! Eh he said sure I got this so I went and found a tree to sleep under for a few hours(Thursday night was good) we got 2 hours of sleep be fore we hunted!
Friday night AS and I went back to the secret spot and again the wind was all wrong got eaten alive and walked a dozer cut and seen nothing.

Saturday morning I walked the graveyard and down to my left about a thousand yards I see 4 pigs in the field there are 3 ravines they can use to go over the cliff, so sit and watch, will it be number 1 ,2 or 3 they start to move right past number 1 so the sprint is on. I ran across number 1 over to number 2 and look down the ravine and I see they are coming right up number 2 at about 200 yards they decide to go over to number 3 so ran another 200 yards over there, as I crest the shoulder of the hill I step on this pinecone and the ride begins. I slid on this pinecone the full length of my body and a few yards. As come to rest on a rock pile I look up and see the pigs going over the ridge to the cliff.

So the sun is up I feel like I got ran over so I might as well try and go get a turkey because on Friday night I shot three arrows at a turkey 1 at 42 yards 1 at 20 yards and 1 at 8 yards and yes I missed every time!! It’s now redemption time as I drive the roads calling I finally get an answer, but it is quite a ways a way so I start running over little hills stopping and calling every hundred yards or so and at the last hill I peek over and there are 4 birds all are fighting with each other so I wave the dek where they can see it and every time one bird tries to strut to the dek the other 3 tackle him and start fighting again. After about 5 minutes of this I am thinking about Friday night, so tell my self just let them fight and when they are all on top of each other just treat it like a 60 pound turkey and shoot.
Right about then the wind blows the dek in a 180 degree circle and the biggest turkey comes running, as he tops the crest of the hill I hit him right between the breasts and knocked him flat, and as you may have guessed the other 3 run up and jump on him again. So watched this for about 45 seconds until he stopped moving and the rest just walked away paying no attention to the dek. And the redemption ticket was filled. That was my last hunting opportune for the trip because of my back. But nothing was a waste of time. I would like to thank every one for there company and effort and bubba for the food as uasual.

And to chopper

My story will be short.

I got to the cabin Friday morning about 3am only to find Arrowslinger out on the porch waiting for me. I few minutes later the lights are on and I'm saying hello to everyone. Within an hour I'm in my camos and out driving to my huntin' spot. After the morning hunt I hung out with some of the guys and threw back a beer or two, slept for about an hour and then off for the evening hunt. Got back to the cabin about 9:30pm... Ate, drank and got to sleep sometime after midnight. And so went the weekend along those same lines. No piggies for me this trip and I will not bore you with how good a time I had... Because like all of the other trips to Choppers, I HAD A FREAKIN' BLAST!! Always an ADVENTURE. I can't wait to get back up there.

It was good meeting Buckeye and seeing all of you other fine JHOer's. I look forward to the next trip whereever that may lead us.

I think I have a photo of LD with his pig, I try and post later.
