Hey Zimm, dont be embarrased. You did something on your first hog hunt with a stick and string that thousands of others have tried to no avail more than a few times. Always remember my motto, "it aint called killin, it's called huntin"
If they called it killin, everybody would be doin it!
Thanks Boys! I had a great time on the hunt and that little fella was just a bonus! Better lucky than good any old day! Sierra Explorer...had him made into sweet italian sausage...yum yum, buhda likes it!!!
Now if I could just lose this poison oak I'd be good to go...jeez this sh1t is nasty!!!
Nice pic Zimm, I hadn't seen it before. I guess your kill was a "hare" bigger than mine after all
Seriously, congrats man, it's a nice piggy
I'd a shot it in a heart beat !!!
Poison oak is nasty stuff, I'm still scratching and removing scabs from my arm. It should fade soon though. I have never had it last more than 4 weeks. Careful of those clothes from the trip though
Mine are still in a container in my garage, i haven't had the nerve to lift the lid and get them into the washer.
Good job on the pig. When I look at my first archery pig and add up all of the dollars it cost me for all of the trips and gas and food and ???. It will probably be the most expensive hog taken by any man alive. And you you lucky dog, did it on the first try. Awesome!!
You just let me know when you need some more skinning done. I'm there.
Congrats,
The decisions you make are yours.
If anyone gives you flak for shooting a less than 300 lb boar w/4inches of tusk,
tell THEM to go do it.
W/two hogs available on a limited time schedule, one would almost be foolhearty
not to shoot the first legit target available.
The way I look at it is: anyone can hit a big target, but one has to be a real crackshot to hit something small.
Chopper just sent me some pics and Iam trying to figure
out how to post it.
Big thanks to Chopper for the pics b/c I left my cameras in the car.
One of those "if I don't bring a camera, maybe I'll get something moments."
I will try write up the story soon.
Dave
