Where is the closest huntable elk herd to SC? I have been wanting to give it a try. They have been reintroduced to TN and NC, but won't be hunted for years.
Pennsylvania has a huntable herd as does Kentucky and Arkansas. Kentucky's deadline for this year's hunt is July 31st and costs $10 to apply. NR tag is around $300 if drawn.
