CO elk hunt. Can I get a little help?

I havent been elk hunting in about 4 yrs after elk hunting in CO for 10 yrs straight. Back then you could get a bull elk tag and a buck tag for 500-550, now its 525 or so for a bull elk tag OTC or draw. I loved elk hunting and still do, love. I would loose sleep over missed shots and jumping mortally wounded elk I shot to other hunters...oh yeah talk about luck, that sucked horribly. The guy wouldnt give it to me even though I showed him the gallons of blood the thing shot all over the place. These hunters were in ski masks...and greatly out numbered me, and yea I walked away a little scared and mostly pissed. Went back to get some of my hunting buddies, but still we could not talk any sense(honorable actions) into these guys who still had not taken off their ski masks...OK??? Anyways a good lesson learned when you have mortally wounded an animal, "sit back and lite one up" as my father and his compadres would say. Man I am long winded...the purpose of this post was to ask of states that either have OTC elk tags or farily easy draw odds. I dont care if I see a "HUGE" bull I just want it to be legal and have some meat hanging in camp. I know CO has OTC and know more about that state than any other, but what about OR, AZ, ID, UT, NM, MT. Yes I know about the website and have spent probably 15+ hours trying to find out these basic questions. I know some may not respond because they are affriad of giving away potential tags of their own, but any help would be great. I would like to take out my dad and his retiered Marine buddies for a hunt, no one has been out in 4-5 yrs, and we were never "trophy hunters", would take a legal spike as quick as a nice 6X6, love the meat. Thanks.

Try looking for Utah,CO or NM landownertags. I hear you on the Gen.hunts,a zoo with animals in orange. I would have found the masked ones...never mind. The unethical breed to often.

L2H. i havent researched it that much, so i could be totally off base. if you go and hunt ruidoso NM on the indian reservation, they have their own draw. great odds, if you are going for a meat cow hunt. odds for shooting a cow are fantastic. they are thick down there. my brother told me it was $550. i dont even know if you need a NM hunting tag. indian nation stuff.

I have also put in on MY supersecret unit's too! On the Res. hunts check if you are required to hire guide. That is the price killer I heard. Regular cow landowner tags can be had for 550. Bulls 1500. Just not Chama or Gila and such. I love NM.

You can always come check out OR. There's plenty of OTC tags. Bow season is almost all OTC except for a few units. Rifle is a different story though, but they do also have OTC tags also. Plenty of elk up here.

If it's a meat hunt(Cow) you should be able to find those in a couple of States, Utah, New Mexico would be the top 2 I would try for. They have a lot of different units that have a lot of cow tags.

A friend of mine and myself are going to Idaho this year.they have OTC there.if you want you can hook up with us. Although its been awhile since I have hunted there I did grow up there.
The area I will hunt is either sex any weapon.deer is also opened,and they have great grouse hunting for after you killed your elk.We will be going for about 2 weeks.it's a 25% success area.
let me know if you are interested. I am in the San Diego area.I would like a camp with at least 4 people or more.The Elk are big and we can use all the help we can get.The elk tags with license are about $500.00 It will be shared expenses for community resorces.i.e. gas,pack animales,ect.
