Ive been doing some homework on Colorado deer hunting, and have a question for anybody familiar with their system. Im a bit premature, as I ordered the big game booklet yesterday, but its fairly simple. On the minimum pp info the list starts with DE, DF, and DM. Im suspecting this means deer doe, deer fawn, and deer male, is this true? It will surely help me in my search if somebody could clue me in. Thanks, Steve

they stand for male, female , and either-sex. If you are really trying to figure your draw odds, in my opinion the "minimum preference points" they give are pretty worthless. There are alot of variables that go into it. Depending on the hunt, they can set aside a certain percentage of tags for residents, landowners, juniors, etc... There is a different page on the DOW webside called "drawing statistics" that has more detailed info and gives you a better idea of your real odds.

DM =buck
DF =doe
DE =either sex
Building preference points in colorado is easy first you buy a habitat stamp then apply for PP for deer its D-P-999-99-P you put the money up front and CO will send you most of your money back in a check after the draw you might as well get a elk and pronghorn will your at it. Depending on if your hunting rifle,muzzleloader,archery the odds vary a lot and as nickman123 says (draw statistics) is your best beat for info good luck

Keep in mind that these stats are for hunters who put in for these units as first choice. I don't think you can draw many units on second choice anymore evem though they give you the option.
