Just got back from Curry Mtn. and Juniper area. That was all I needed to never want to pig hunt BLM again. Curry was a cow trail straight up 1,500' mountain. Nice looking country if you hike back a couple miles. Very little sign. I managed to call a coyote in with a squealer call, but didn't take the shot (didn't want to spook a pig...just in case). I'm not sure what was worse, the climb straight up the Mtn, or the walk/slide down.

I scouted the Juniper Ridge, Long Hallow and Hog Canyon areas, but they didn't look good enough to hike in to. Besides some of the locals/farmers reminded me of the "Deliverance" movie

... Whats with the black hats Jethro?

I went down Los Gatos Rd a spell to check out Condon and Laguna but turned arount after seeing all the motorcycles and trucks with bikes.

I think at my age, I will stick to POR and guided hunts.

I feel your pain pitdog I have hunted the mountain twice and both times say I will never come back. The main thing is it is right off the road so every tom, dick, and harry stop and hunt it. Also I remember literally hanging from rocks as I climbed the side of that hill. That hill is for guys like "theseacow" who can climb like a goat all day and still look like they are ready for more.
