Colorado archery bull

Hunted outside of Durango. Started hunting Sunday evening. The elk were no where to be found until Wednesday morning and they were going wild. Called a couple bulls in on Wednesday but they never got closer than 150 yards. Finally Thursday morning I got on a bachelor herd and we called them in. Shot this 6x6 at 18 yards, straight on shot. He ran right at me and stopped, put my pin on his heart and the rest was history. 10 yard recovery. First elk and it was amazing. Incredible trip. And man did that 125 grain buzz cut do work. Saw some huge deer. I will post in the mules forum. No shortage of meat on my end. 3 trips to get everything out. God bless Colorado. Gross 260 3/8"

My wife lived there when she was a kid and outta the blue today she says she wants to move there. After seeing your elk, I might have to agree with her but I think she might regret saying that! Good job. What an adrenaline rush that must have been. Enjoy
