Colorado Unit 11

Hello everyone,

New to this forum, have hunted Colorado many times and am going to hunt a unit for elk we never hunted before.

Any suggestions on unit 11 on where to go to get away from the crowds?

Unit 11 lies south of Maybell and west of unit 211. The elk migrate from the high country across hwy 13 to unit 211 and on to unit 11. The country is mainly sage brush, cedar and scattered quakies. Having said that, if you have a late tag and get snow, there will be lots of elk in that country all the way up from Meeker to Maybell but also lots of people. If you have early season, hunting will be tough. If you have tresspass access to any ranches in either season, your odds will improve drastically. Hope this helps.
