I try to draw a 61 tag every year. When I don't draw for 61 I hunt in 62 (rifle). I was dirt bike riding last year during the archery/muzzle loading season and there were hunters everywhere! My advice is do your homework and get away from the main roads and as far into the forest as you can. I would think that a designated campground would be full of hunters (mostly out of state guys) and the surrounding areas would be highly pressured. Best of luck to you!

I've never hunted in 62 cause it's supposed to be one of the most over crowded Elk units in the state. Its one of the area's the DOW hype's up to sell five million OTC tags to Nonresidents.

Now I hear 61 is supposed to be a great hunt

Sorry but I can't help, never been to the area. I will be there with a guide during the first rifle season (Oct 9-13) this year though.
