Dang. You guys did REALLY well.
But, was it real or just a Crown induced hallucination????????
I'm sure you all are trying to figure out when you can get back there.
Good job and post stories and pics.

Ok, I'll tell you a bit about MY hunt. BDB has all the pics on his camera so we have to wait for him to post them or e-mail them to me.

Sooooooooooooooo

I would like to tell you all about the hog killing but this trip was much more than just putting pork in the freezer, it was for a first timer up at Chops a real hunting vacation.

Amazing ranch, nuf said.

Thursday around 3 I meet BDB and SacFire down at the store and we buzz up the long road to choppers. BDB has it all worked out for us to get an hour of hunting in before dark so its up to the cabin for a quick change then off looking for hogs.

I went with BDB and SacFire with Chopper. BDB and I get down in one of the canyons looking for a place to park when he says "theres Hogs". I look but dont see them, then 3 pop out of a gully running away from us. Then 5 more. NOt a bad start. We split up and hunt them until dark with no shots.

We get back to the cabin and everyone is there. RichW shot a hog down in a creek and with the hog going into deep cover we decide to let him sit until morning.

Had a raging fire and good BBQ while watching the Or vs CA DVD and getting to know everyone. Good times.

Friday morning I headed down the same canyon as the night before and glassed alot without any hogs being seen. What I did see was alot of standing water and GO TUSKERS!!!!!!!!!!</span>[/i]

Oh yeah one last thing. Kirk you can make me an offer on this little thing if you like.

Congratulations
Great story:
looks like another hunter addicted to Wild Hog Adventures.
Joined yourself a good club full of great people.
I can't wait until my next fix.
I'm suffering wild Hog Adventure withdrawls.

We we had a great hunt. I would like to thank Chopper for all his help showing me around the ranch and his hospitality! Also, FT, BDB and RichW are great guys that know how to put pork on the ground. Yes, I now have the Chopper bug and will be back soon!

Thursday night myself, BDB, and FT arrived. Chop took me out and drove me around the ranch so I could get an idea of the lay of the land. I was impressed--what beautiful country! That night, we returned to camp to fing that RichW had two shots that evening with one miss and one pass thru--all at under twenty yards
<
RichW and I planned to return to the same area in the morning and look for his hog.

Friday morning we woke and headed out. Rich and I returned to his "secret" spot and decided to sit for a while before looking for his hog. Just about 5 minutes after legal shooting time, Rich motioned to me he was hearing pigs comming our way. I soon heard them two. Rich was about 30 yards from me when 6 hogs walked in. 4 of the hogs walked right between rich and myself. The biggest one was directly in front of Rich, so I could not shoot! They soon winded us and I had three hogs charge right up to about two feet of my location, and the run back the other way towards Rich. The big hog that was standing infront of Rich, moved to the right and at 20 yards, I took my shot!. It skimmed, right under his brisket and found only hair on my arrow...I had rushed my shot while there were pigs running every where. After the shot, I walked up to Rich, laughing, and he said, "welcome to Chopper's!"

That evening, I headed out to look over an area that had alot of fresh sign. I had planned to sit on that area till dark. At about 1530 I had a bobcat walk into 10 yard of my position. He never knew I was there and walked off. At about 1600, I heard noise up on the hill above me when 5 hogs came in. The biggest hog came in to 13 yards and moved behind a tree. As I drew my bow, she caught movement and bolted out to about 22 yards and stood broadside. I knew that I need to shoot fast, but I tried to stay calm and put my 20 yard pin low behind her shoulder. The arrow was off and with a thwack, the pig was down on the ground...I had hit a little high and spined her...after one more arrow, that was a pass thru, I had my hog!

Little did I know, the hunting was about to get much better

To be continued...

Sorry for the lack of repsonse guys. I got home from the hunt and had 2 hours to unpack and take my wife for an anniversary dinner since I was away for the anniversary. Damn dinner cost me almost as much as the hunt
<
but I digress. Anyway, came home from the dinner and had to pack for a business trip I was leaving on at 7am. Plus I had a few other "duties" to deal with after dinner
<
Left at 7am and got into Connecticut at 8pm (local time) tonight. No time to write a story as I have some work to do and hit the sack for work tomorrow.

Lets just say, as always, an aweomse time with some great guys!!! FT, SacireJT, richw, it was great meeting all of you and I'd be happy to share a camp and a cold one ANY TIME with you guys again, I had a blast !!!!

Here's a few pics. Since I don't have access to my ISP right now, each is a separate post.

You already saw FT and I with the hogs so here are the others:

BH would up close. All I can say is that would does not look nearly ad NASTY as it did in person. When Chop says "That is the nastiest thing I have seen" you know it was bad !!!!
