Went to upper cottonwood, with a friend and we came up on about a 80-90 lb Boar hog at 60 yd's behind a low oak, we tried to get a little closer, and when I turned to my buddy Ron and he ranged it then at 40, and as I started to draw my bow the hog went over the hill. We then tried to get down wind and around him,and ahead of him, but couldn't find him. So we went down the ridge about 200 yd's, hoping to maybe see a buck or maybe another hog. We sat there for maybe 1 1/2 hr's. Then we decided to head back out, so we side hilled the ridge back up. While walking slowly, we jumped a Huge Boar at 25 yd's at the most. He gave out a huge snort, and was gone in a flash. It happened so fast, we couldn't even get drawn back for a shot, in was intense. The boar was pushing 200-250 lb's with no problem. He was at least 3' tall at the shoulder's, and 5' + in length. In 30 + yr's hunting cottonwood, I have never seen a hog, other than over the fence, on the west side on private property. Sure was a hunt to remember. Thank's for a great hunt Ron.
