Cow elk tag

Does anyone think any less of me for putting in for a Ca cow elk tag? Just going with the odds...Just wondering:bag-on-head:

Not I, I put in for another one this year myself.

It all tastes the same and I really don't the ceiling clearance in the house for a set of horns.

Personally, I think the cows are more challenging, lots more eyes to get past then a lone bull.

If I did not have max points in CA that is what I would be doing. I love hunting elk, and figure if and when I draw my bull tag I'll just put in for cow tags.

I have always put in for bull tags just because of the high cost of the tags. If I pay several hundred dollars for a tag, I want antlers! Having said that; you are probably being more logical than I am. I see no moral problem with killing a cow; and have taken three or four does. Don't know about elk, but I found the female deer to be much better on the grill than a buck.

I put in for an archery cow tag myself. I dont blame you. You have more than double the chances of drawing, especially with the Archery only tags.

Dude - Meat is meat. I would kill does and cows every year if they would let me. I hunt for meat.

Almost the same here, ML Either sex tag. First legal one to walk by gets .50....

Nevada is not a hard state to draw a Cow Elk Tag. I pulled one this year with 0 pref points. It can be a little costly for a nonresident ($120 License/$1200 Tag). Not to hard to get a cow in certain Units of the state.

I put in for Tinamaha cow.I went with the odds also.I also put in for cow in Colorado.
I also have an either sex tag for deer in Ca. If I don't get any of these then I'll probably go hunt ladybugs.
P.S. I don't shoot hens.

if i draw a NM elk tag..it will take some serious willpower not the cash in my either sex tag on a cow. like the above, i have no room for antlers anyways. not even a euro mount. my last euro hangs at my sisters.

I shot a nice cow last year, my son shot a nice cow last year, and hopefully my wife will fill her cow tag this year. Cow elk make great table faires in my opinion.
Big "B", not everyone is as lucky as you drawing a NV cow elk tag with NO bonus points. All though my brother-inlaw did it last year too. Looking forward to you scoring your elk this year bro.:thumbs up2:

Wew! I fell better now. I put myself, my wife and my son in for cow elk Ca. I hope at least one of us gets drawn or I too will just hunt lady bugs.... I bought a new 30-06 just in case?

Did you ever see that ad with the freezer full of beautiful wrapped packages of meat? It was entitled "Trophy Room".
I put in for a g12 blackberry flavored doe this year, along with a cow elk tag.
My house is too small and too full of stuff for antlers, too.

Exactly I just want freezer full of meat. I dont have max points so just getting an opportunity to hunt elk in Ca would be nice. I think I have tried elk only once and it was over 25 years ago and I do remember it being tasty! When can we go online and check the draw?
