Anyone ever heard or used this guy? I found this on Craigs list this morning.

I am offering a weekend wild pig hunt on my ranch. I am located next to the Pinnacles National Monument south of Holister. I prefer hunting groups of 3 to 6 for the weekend and I only allow one group per weekend. I have a ranch house that has a kitchen, living room with a fire place, a bunk room, a bedroom and a bathroom available for your use. There are beds, but please bring your own bedding. I do not guide the hunt, however, I will take you around the ranch to give you the ranch layout on the day you arrive. During this ranch orientation, I will tell you where I have seen pigs and give you some suggestions where to hunt. This is a fair chase hunt and all California hunting regulations must be followed, I will check to make sure you have a valid hunting license and a pig tag in your possesion. I have a walk in cooler and a processing area to aid you in proceesing your successful take of a wild pig. I charge a fee of $400 per hunter and this fee cover your weekend hunt and the right to take one wild pig per hunter. You can arrive anytime after noon on Friday of the weekend you book for your hunt and you can stay through Sunday evening of that weekend. You will find four wheel drive vehicles a plus, but not a nesscesity; I can not allow ATV's. If you enjoy wild pig hunting, I believe you will find this to be a good, enjoyable opportunity to hunt. The success rate on the ranch is very good and I have several groups that return time and time again. For more information or to book a weekend, please call me at 1 (831) XXX-XXXX. Due to the terrain and ranch location this is a land line, please leave a message if I don't answer; I will return your call.

It's not Wild Hog Adventures, I can guarantee you that.

Sounds more like Robert Edwards.

Yes, I think he is the one who has been advertising on craigslist. He has the property up by LS I believe.

LS??

He used to do the pig hunts then a couple years ago he shut down for a while because a particular class of clients he was getting from a bowshop in the valley were not following the rules. He shut down, cleaned up the place and fixed his cabin up, then opened back up for hunts again. I believe it's all legit. Not sure if what he does as far as "Showing" you around the ranch is considered guiding or if he has a guides license but if it is the place I'm thinkin, it's not a bad deal.

With the recent rains and the greening of the hills............I think Deedee's at Bryson Hesperia Resort unguided hunts are a better deal. They are sponsors here in this forum. Check it out.

Without knowing the rest of the phone number, can't be sure it is Robert Edwards ranch but it sure sounds like it.

Robert is a great guy with an incredible piece of property. Some 2,500 acres on the side that he hunts. The other side (of the road) has about 500 acres where his house is located. He is a horse breeder by trade and back in the day was a champion roper.

Have always killed hogs when I visited him. Lots of hogs in the area. I can remember seeing 15 hogs in feeding at the troughs at the same time the horses were. Perhaps all that horse feed keeps them in the area.

The ranch is huge with pig sign everywhere. Many natural ponds on the property with heavy pig sign. If you know what you are doing you do not need aguide on this property. Robert or his main ranch hand Ron will show you around and tell you where to concentrate your efforts.

It one point he brought in some Barbados sheep for guys to archery hunt but that was some time ago. The pigs are the main draw.

I have included some pictures of the ranch including the very old ranch house you stay in when there. It is quite an adventure.

Look closly at the rubbing post outside the upper horse pen worn thin from years and years of hog activity in the area.

Like I said it is a great property if you are into hunting hogs...

That does sounds like Robert. He is a great guy and it is a great ranch. I hunted there a few years back and stayed in that farmhouse in Band Collector's pictures. I think 3 out of 4 of us scored. I highly recommend Robert.
