Can anybody lend a hand?

Dear California Wood Duck Program volunteers and friends,

On Saturday, May 1st, California Waterfowl is participating in the Scout Expo 2010 at Beale Air Force Base. From 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. scouts will be participating in activities to learn about the conservation success story of the California Wood Duck Program and will be building wood duck nest boxes themselves.

We are expecting approximately 1,000 scouts and adults to participate in the box building activity at this event and are hoping to build 150 wood duck boxes and we need volunteers! The day will be split into two approximately four hour sessions so that you can choose which shift, morning or afternoon (or all day if you’re willing), will better fit your schedule. Refreshments, tools, instructions, and more will be included for you. All you need to do is show up and you will be contributing to the legacy of conservation that we all work so hard to promote through the California Wood Duck Program.

There are many stations that need volunteers including introductory wood duck education, actual box building, and more.

This event will be here before we know it and we need your help to make it a success!!

Please contact me for further details about this event or to sign up for a shift for Saturday, May 1st! Also, if you know of anyone else that may be interested in volunteering for this event, please pass this on. Looking forward to hearing back from you all!!
