I am new to deer hunting this season. I went up to D14 on opening day with a buddy who hunts and we did not see anything. My buddy can't hunt the rest of the season and now I am looking for someone to hunt with in D14 the rest of the season.

I'm in Rancho. I don't have a tag but I'd be happy to go along and help you spot etc. I'm not an experienced deer hunter tho'

I am sure you are looking for someone with some experience to be your hunting partner.

I am looking for a hunting partner as well, but I am also a newbie. However, I wish I did have some experience and take you up on your offer.

I live in San Diego. Although I live down here and money is tight (as it is for most of us), I am not concerned driving northward or eastward, although for now any experience will have to be on the weekends (used up all my sick leave recovering from having shingles, not that you needed to know that).

Not that I have made a huge effort locating a partner or anything, however, I am discovering very few people I know or work with hunts/has hunted or know someone who does/did.

Any suggestions would be helpful and appreciated from all you veteran hunters out there. It would be nice to get some experience.

I appreciate everbody's response to my post regarding a hunting partner. I believe we are all in the same boat as far as our experience. I believe we all need to have a partner that has more experience that we do. I have lerned a lot in a short time but in reality, I don't know anything. We can all learn by having a veteran hunter help us.

No matter where you go, it seems more and more people know about the area. We use to hunt the Barton flats area a few years back and never had success. This year is off to a slow start, slower than usual. Try hunting the devils hole area north of crab flats. It's usually active with deer towards the end of the season. Hunt near the water.

I'm just gonna keep scouting this season in hopes of a do-it-yourself hunt next year.
