Hunting around the D7 area around dusk and came across this ugly sucker. About 250 with 3" cutters. Cleaned it up, cut the head off so I could do a Euro to it and then donated the meat to a local needy family. All in all, it was an awesome day! Enjoy!!!!

Nice hog. What caliber did you use? Where in D7 did you get him? I looked around D7 for about 5 hours yesterday while scouting deer. No signs of live!

Caliber was .270. About a 60 yard shot. Off of Rd 600 between Awhanee and Raymond.

Nice pig....I guess Tallbud and I were in the wrong part of D7.
CATManReid, isn't that part consider as private property only? My brother works with someone who leases his property out in Raymond to some ranchers with cows......We got my brother's co-worker's permission to hunt the land but the leaser in the property refuses to let us hunt......so we haven't had a chance to hunt up there yet.

Got into the Oakhurst area Saturday afternoon and my buddy and his son wanted to do a little pig hunting. We know a local rancher down there who has been gracious enough to let us hunt out there for the past year or so. We help him out whenever he needs an extra hand, and he in turn gives us permission to hunt. Anyways, we get onto the ranch and start to drive towards the back. We stop at a wallow where we've seen sign for weeks now and get out. Load the guns and prepare to walk this little muddy creek to look for pigs. About 15 yards from the truck, we spot the boar. He sees us, and just casually starts to walk out of the wallow and boom, down he goes. all said and done.

He sure did. It was actually my buddy who shot it, but hey, just being there for it was good enough for me. Plus, getting bloody and up to your armpits in guts is part of the fun!!! Lol.
