I've seen alot of topics with questions regarding wich caliber to use on hogs, so I thought I would post a harvest from yesterday. This 100lb boar was taken at 400 yards with a 338RUM.

It is a huge hole, and I also think its overkill. I just don't understand why people think these huge calibers are needed for small animal such as hogs.

Dayum, looks like a coyote I shot one time with my .300. One side was finger size hole but backside you could fit a football through it. 25 yrd shot with 180 grain Nosler Partition, I was bear hunting and he presented hisself and I couldn't pass the shot up.

My 30-06 does the same damage on 100 lb. hogs at 100 yards.
