Well, got back a few hours ago, but even though I didn't bag anything, it was still a successful hunt. The country there is beautiful, and the cabins were top notch. I had a great time running through the hills :). I'll be going back later this year or next year. There's a certain area I'd like to spend more time to hunt on, Deedy calls it the shady area, definitely a hot spot.

that's all you are going to give us? see any hogs, hear any hogs, get busted by any hogs, or just wearing a stripe on your back, but enjoyed the time out in the rolling oak trees and the fresh air. Keep at it, sounds like you are, you will find them.

559Hog, I sent you an email a while back when you were planning this hunt. Did you get that email?

I'll write some more tonight. I got really busy with some school work, and the woman was wondering where I was at all weekend hah.

I'd have to check. I don't remember getting anything.

I don't know what to tell you as I'm no expert at hunting. Just listen to deedy, she'll put you on them. I'm going to reassess what I did right and what I did wrong, and I'll get back to you.

It was 200/day for the trespass fee semiguided hunt, I was there for 2 days, and I stayed at the cabin. I think it came out to about 560. I think Tom Willoughby is still up there, but I really don't know because I haven't heard anything from his operation.

Just for the record guys, these are semi-guided hunts for 200.00 a day. That means that we will put you on the recent hog activity on over 6,000 acres of pristine private hunting grounds. Recent hog activity would be within the last couple days. That means: I go find the pigs before you get here so you are not just thrown out in the field without help. You have maps with beds, maps of cameras with pigs, maps of trails with pigs. And maps of waterholes with pigs. Then I go with my hunters in the field before they hunt & I show them how to play the wind in these fields. I want you to leave with pigs. These hunts are running at about 40-50% success rate, 80% of my guys see, hear, or smell pigs and have opportunity, but stuff goes wrong. Also, sometimes my hunters just miss seeing the pigs. The hogs are on the gamecams (out in the open field), during legal light & in the exact field that the hunters are in. But that's pig hunting. I've missed seeing the hogs in the field too, still do, and will continue to... I'm sure. Crafty little devils, that's why it's fun.
My piggies can also be a no-show out in the open, but are still here in the beds. The beds are thick here, it is not easy to hunt pigs in bed. And we've got a bunch of beds, you can't hunt them all in a day. Hogs don't sleep in the same place every night, so pig bed hunting is pretty challanging.
Sometimes too, the semi-guided guys will also miss their alarm clocks in the morning. I can't stress enough how important it is to be in the field at first light when it rocks n' rolls... or at the last civil twilight.
This is a really good deal for those of you that want to get out and experience a fair chase spot and stalk wild hog hunt on your own. If you desire, you can also shoot enormous amounts of ground squirrels and an occasional coyote that happens to run into you.

We still do fully guided hunts here as well. Tom Willoughby still helps me here on the guided hunts. Our fully guided hunts are 100% guaranteed on shot opportunity at approx. 125 yards... Our fully guided hunts have always ran at 100% success rate since we opened in 2006.

Thank you to all my guests who have hunted with us, we've enjoyed having all of you immensly!
Cheers!

I had a blast at your place deedy. I'll be coming back after the deer season. I definitely will be there for turkey hunting too. Around 8:45ish on saturday evening, I saw 1 tom, 5 hens and about 12-15 chicks right by the neighbors storage area :). I actually have it on video lol, if only the sun wasn't shining directly into my camera lense :(. I'll show you the video later if you would like to see it.

Quick question, is there an added fee per pig harvested and a limit?

I think it was $200 trespassing fee for 1 pig, an additional $200 for a second pig. Don't quote me though.

:not-worthy:Hey Deedy, thank you for throwing the photo up since I am semi illiterate with the computer stuff. What an awesome experience to visit you and the multiple properties that you have available. I can't believe how many deer are running around out there!

I'll call you in the next few days to book another hunt and I really want to make it up for archery deer as well as another hog. I've got a couple of people that want to come up as well after seeing all of the pictures from the properties you put me on.

thank you
