Hey all my fellow shed hunters. I just made arrangements for my first
shed finding dog. One of our local vets crossed his lab and golden retriever. Unfortunately a skunk grabbed one of the pups while mommy wasn't looking. The vets wife was watching and managed to shoot the skunk before he left with the pup. This pup died. The skunks head was sent off to check for rabbies and came back positive. They are certain that none of the other pupps came in contact with the skunk, but the state requires them to be in quarentine for 90 days.
Which leads to a unique opportunity...because the pupps will be 4.5 months when they come out of quarentine people who were willing to buy them as puppies no longer want them since they will not be small cute puppies anymore. The vet is giving them away and I have already claimed one. I think there are 3 left. I just thought I would give you guys the info incase someone was interested.
The pupps will only be available as long as they are still clean throughout the quarentine stage which shouldn't be an issue.
