Hey Guys,

I found this deer shed while quail hunting last year. I'm assuming its from a coastal blacktail, but not sure. Can anybody give me any info about it from this picture. It appears hes a 4 pointer, but thats all I know. Approximate age? Anything else would help...Thanks guys...

What a bonus! I love finding 'extras' while in enjoying outdoors! Once found two small 4-pt sheds while putting a deer stand up in early September! Sorry - can't help you with what species or age? Looks good though!

It's probably a mule deer or Blacktail deer. As far as age, are your talking about the deer or the shed? If your talking about age of the deer and it's a mule deer (I don't know anything about Blacktails) my guess would be 2 1/2 to 3 1/2 (but is it just a guess). The shed looks like it would be about 3 years old. I might not be that much help (Being from Canada, EH) but I thought I'd try!

Take care!
