I made 3 more trips back to the area where I had my 21 shed day.I found another 7 sheds in that area only finding one mate to the sheds I already had.First trip back I found 5,then 1,then 1 more today. Two of the 7 sheds was a matched set off a spike buck.
I made a trip yesterday to a different area with my son (Zach) and we found 2 sheds a piece.

I made it back out Thur. for a big shed day of 2 old chewed sheds.Things are really looking bad in my shedding areas.
Today after looking close to 8 hours I found another 3 sheds.I did see two 8 pointers still carrying both sides.
Last week I found a couple more dead buck too.

A week last Sunday I made a short local hunt with my youngest Stacy. We hit a orchard that produces a couple every year.On this day we found a nice 4pt. side.I found it and tried tossing over a few rows for Stacy to find,I was busted trying. He thinks I tossed it,but he's not sure.

Then last Thur.I made another trip. This day I found 5 sheds and a couple dead buck.Only one nice antler and it was an old antler from the year before. There were a couple small fresh ones and a couple old chewed antlers.

One of the old chewed ones.

The fresh ones.

I headed back the following day to an area I'd already searched hoping to find some mates. The only shed I found looks like it layed for some time.Between the elements and the rodents there wasn't much left of it.lol

Mulie-I don't do anything with my sheds.I like collecting them and adding them to the pile.

I made it back out for a few more trips. My first trip was to my bowhunting only area where I shot my big bow kill in 04.Last year the area was void of sheds and last bow season all I saw were spikes and Y's except the one I shot and one hawg.I only saw the monster buck one time and figured he was just passing though with the rut on so I didn't think I'd find much for sheds.
I first went to the small hillside where I found the shed off the buck I shot in 04.Not 20 yds. from where that shed was found I found a matched set laying together off a nice 7pt. buck. After searching awhile I found a big heavy 3pt. side below my stand location very close to where my big buck dropped. There's hope for the up coming season.I found 2 other sheds too that first trip.
My next outting was a long day only finding 2 sheds, one fresh shed and an old one.
Yesterday it was a 10 hour day worth of searching finding 5 more sheds. My first spot was to a new area I'd never been to before. My first find of the day was an old 5pt. side with some rodent damage. When I went to take my "as it layed" pic I spotted a turtle shell 10yds away.I then found a fresh 4pt. side an another old 4pt. side.
After leaving this spot I stopped to check out another new area. The area looked great with sign and big rubs, but no sheds.I think the competetion already hit this spot.I did find a dead buck that I can honestly blame on a bowhunter. It was laying in the bed of a small creek and was cleaned up pretty good.In the shoulder blade there was a broadhead that barley penetrated the shoulder blade.
After leaving this area I stopped where I had my 21 day shed find earlier this year to look for mates not found.I found one shed and it was a missing mate.I found some big sheds here and still can't figure out where the mates are to those.
To end the day I made one more stop back at my bowhunting only area for some more looking. There I found a nice 4pt. side.

I have no doubt that you'll hit 100! How are your numbers this year compared to other years? Will this be your most productive??

This year is my worse year out of the last 3 that I've been hitting it hard. The county I'm doing the majority of my shedding in is on a all out war to thin the deer herds.Last year my one area that was always good for about 30 sheds accounted for a handful of sheds. This year I've found 6 sheds in that area.I found 2 good farms last year that helped my numbers last year. One of those farms this year I've only found one shed on it.Alot of my old shedding grounds are either slim pickings or void all together of sheds.
Every time I head out searching I try to hit a couple new areas and I'm ending up earning every shed I find.
I should hit 100 sheds this year, but next year will be another story.I'm getting too old for this.lol

Here's a couple more shed pics.

Awesome season my friend. My best area was getting logged during this shed season.Last year I found 20 some sheds their and this year I have found 3.So it is getting harder every year to find antlers.I have hiked twice as many miles this year to find the same number of sheds as last year.

I only made it out one day last week and found another 3 sheds. The end of the week and the beginning of next week I should be able to get out more.I need to find one good area or find some missing mates.
In my areas I'm looking I'm slowly finding mates to sheds I've already found.Of the 3 sheds last week 2 were mates to sheds I found earlier this year. The third shed I think was the mate to a shed I found last year.
In the area where I had my record shed day there's some cut corn fields between the two hot areas where most those sheds were found that day. It's time to cover those fields now.
