Current issue of Outdoor California (the DFG Magazine) has an article on wild pigs in CA. There is a map in the article, map shows pigs in "San Diego". According to the article, the area (Cleveland National Forest) already has a wild population of pigs.

Yea, everyone knows or should know the sometimes (not always) negative side effects of non native speieces.
Bees are non-native to the U.S.
I want to see more go into the dfg for maintenance and why isn't one of the enviro beauracracies handling the oil spill stuff?
We need dfg handling dfg matters not playing pollution police they need to take care of wildlife and habitat improvement / enhancement.

Since our spineless (sympathetic) fed & state reps are just taking huge chunks of our money to defend and pay court costs for the obstructionist envio's.
I guess thats receycling because some of the money goes back into getting them re-elected.

Any new trendy item to create a lawsuit to stop maintainence and improvements like restocking the wild turkey, shutting down the west coast logging industry which chokes out the graze for the deer herd.
The gross mismanagement examples go on and on.
The feds USFS etc; are manned with some good, but a new generation of bird watcher mentality anti hunting wanna be law enforcement haks screwin the federal pooch.
They don't know about nature, wildlife etc; like the old school guys, no thet're just out to write tickets and play school monitor.

I saw an article on the flying carp :

MJB,the actual cost of a tag doesn't mean a darn thing to me as long as I'm getting my bang for the buck but we're NOT, all we are getting is price increases , endless price increases that will never slow down unless someone complains. your answer is a lifetime license, well what if in the near future they decide that the licence is not cost effective and either raise the price substantialy or reduce the perks you get with the lifetime license and don't tell me it can't happen because it will . Lifetime licenses are simply a way for the govt to get your money in advance and hope that you either quit hunting or die before you become an economic liability.

Back to the subject......I have an employe that has family on the Res. and I will have second hand info on the pigs after this weekend. Sounds like they are behind several fences and a few deep canyons so escaping pigs sounds far fetched for now.[/b]
OK, enough with the thread hijack... if you want to rant against DFG, Politicians, or Environmentalists, take it to a new thread in the Politics and Hot Topics forum.

The discussion is about the hogs on the res in San Diego County, a claim that has been verified. But the fact is, once again, the DFG can't do anything about it as long as those hogs stay on the res, so there's nothing here to blame them for.

quick hijack

I second the call for the asian (flying) carp to be planted in CA waters to teach them low down no good jet skiers some manners. Gettin whomped in the melon with a 20 lb. fish at 25 mph should work. It'll also keep me from throwing all my 8 oz sinkers to deter them from waking my shore fishing.

Now back to your San Diego Indian Res hog inquiries

Not yet.

Serves them right. Some of the jokers are deliberately moving near shoreline when the mid-lake is widely unoccupied. I first thought that they are showing off. Except most of the people on the shore are bearded men.

"Bees are non-native to the U.S."

I question the accuracy of this statement. Bees and bee keeping existed in the Aztec culture and the ancient Mayan cultures, which of course is now Mexico, so why wouldn't they be present in the land now occupied by the U.S.?

"CA State law mandates that money raised from hunting licenses and fees is designated ONLY for the Fish and Game Commission and DFG use. It cannot, by law, be used for other purposes such as the General Fund.
This is not to say there hasn't been some pilfering, and the pig tag funds have been a target of opportunists in our State Government. But in general, the money raised by pig tags goes back where it belongs".

Spec, You started it right in the thread.

Rancho, No comment necessary it's not worthy of one.
