July 22, 2003
DFG Releases Several Informational Publications
Contact: DFG Office of Public Affairs, (916) 653-6420
The California Department of Fish and Game (DFG) continues its mission to bring information to Californians about the state’s fish and wildlife.
The latest additions to the available publications include the Striped Bass Fishing Map, the Get hooked on Catch and Release for Striped Bass brochure, and the It only takes a little bit brochure in addition to the regular productions like Outdoor California magazine and the new Internet Newsroom.
“Californians continue to demand, and they deserve, the latest and most accurate information we can provide about California’s wildlife, fish, habitat, and opportunities to enjoy them,” said Steve Martarano, DFG’s supervising information officer. “Our staff has found ways to pool their talents and expertise to produce accurate, useful products for a minimum of expense.”
To get any of these items, individuals only need to ask:
Striped Bass Fishing Map: Contains maps of the Delta with lists of free, and fee-for-use fishing and launching sites. On the back of the map, DFG has provided information about striped bass and their management in California along with season information and fabulous photos. The map is available by calling (209) 948-7800 or e-mailing cprusinski@dfg.ca.gov with your mailing address.
Get hooked on Catch and Release for Striped Bass: Discusses the idea of catching and releasing striped bass, and the benefits it could bring the striped bass fishery. To get a copy, call (209) 948-7800 or e-mail cprusinski@dfg.ca.gov with your mailing address; or download from www.dfg.ca.gov/news/publications.html. Requests for multiples are also welcome.
It only takes a little bit: Delves into the problem of urban runoff and the effects it has on California’s waterways, water quality, and fish health. Every California resident contributes to the problem, but they can also be part of the solution. To get a copy, call (916) 653-6420 or e-mail cprusinski@dfg.ca.gov with your mailing address; or download from www.dfg.ca.gov/news/publications.html. Requests for multiples are also welcome.

It’s available through subscription for $12 per year for six issues (discounts available online and in the magazine). Single copies are available for browsing at most DFG office locations. Selected articles and additional information on the magazine are available at www.dfg.ca.gov/coned/ocal. A single copy can be request by calling (916) 653-6420 or e-mailing plopez@dfg.ca.gov.
