Directions to FHL

I have done a bunch of searches and looked at the FHL section and web site. I am pretty sure how to get there, but can anyone confirm the best (fastest) way from Oakland?

I assume it's straight down 101 to Jolon road (King city) then down into FHL. Is this the best way?

Thats it , from the bay area. It should take you about 2 1/2 hours with light traffic. The hardest part for you will be that san jose traffic and the road construction right out of san jose on 101.

Yup. From the Bay Area, 101 South to Jolon is the fastest route. I've gone there from both the north and the south. If you miss the first exit while heading south, there's a second exit that takes you back around by Lake San Antonio (though you will probably save a little time backtracking on 101).

Within the Bay Area itself, alternate routes to 101 towards Gilroy don't seem to save a whole lot of time.

Generally, choke points are the 85/101 merge near Tully Road in South San Jose, the road widening project from Monterey Rd. to Morgan Hill, the merge from from hwy 156 (weekend flock from Monterey and Carmel), and an occasional crunch on 101 north near Salinas, usually on Sunday nights.

Thanks for the info guys. I am planning on leaving Berkeley about 11:30am on Friday so hopefully I will beat most of the traffic leaving SF/Oakland and also the traffic in SJ.

We're headed that way on Friday as well, but the drive is a bit longer (6 hours?). We're camping, so if you see a little white 1955 trailer behind a Dodge extracab 4x4 stop by and introduce yourself.

I will be arriving at about 5:00 Friday. I'll be loaded for turkey and pigs. If I shoot a bird Saturday morning I'll put it on ice and go back out for pigs. I'm driving a black Ford Ranger 4x4 with a cap on the back. My liscence is RCKYTP. I'm camping.

Thanks guys, I will keep an eye out for you. I am also going for turkeys and pigs. Mostly turkeys, but we'll see what happens. I'll be camping and driving a forest green Toyota Tacoma with a JPH sticker in the back left window. If I don't spot you, give a holler to me

I'm guessing I'll be there by 4pm. I don't know squat about FHL (other than what I read here) so I don't even know how it works other than register when I get there for an area (I'll have to figure that out also).
