On Tejon Ranch what is the average distance for a shot on a pig? Also same question for Paso Roboles area.

Troggy,

From my own experience, the longest shot has been about 50-60 yards. I could've closed the range then, but there was no point since I was shooting the 30-06.

I know longer shots do, occasionally, present themselves. Dilxpro had a shot that looked to be 250-300, but the herd busted on him.

You might try searching this topic for some more info. I know it was discussed a while ago, but it's been a while.

Here is a link to a thread I did last spring. Average Distance link and while it's not limited to Tejon Ranch you may find it interesting.
Also since that post, I have shot my first hog at Tejon at a range of 25 yds.
Hope that helps.

My Tejon hog was about 25yds. I've shot 200yds + using a bipod. I'm comfortable up to 250 w/ a rest or a bipod.

10 yards, 80-100 yards, and 253 yards. I like stalking close. But that last one was in a hole. The lower I went the less of the hole I could see through the oaks.
