I was planning a DIY Archery hunt for next fall, had 4 takers, and 2 have fallen through. We are all first time ELK hunters, and were planning a hunt during the first 10 or so days of the archery season, would like to have 2 other hunters, preferably easterners, hopefully Ohioans, to roadtrip out to Colorado, 2 of us already made vacation arrangements, and are pretty much ready to go today, even though we have to wait 'til August. Need to get together and process applications and such, any takers let me know, we would not be against having more than 4, possibly 6, but would prefer 4-6 maximum, plan to hunt in buddy pairs. Experienced ELK Archers would be highly appreciated for any advice!!! I think we can be successful, but know it will be a challenge. For those interested, tags run $493.25, and applications are due in April. We plan to apply as a group, and Area 33, has had a 100% success rate if 1st choice for archers the past 3yrs.

Backcountry,
I sent you an e-mail, and I have done a vast amount of research in which area would be best, and am open to suggestions. Either respond here, or send me a response in E-mail, letting me know your status.
