Reading on texas boars and saw a post with pics of hogs tearing up cresoted logs and beams, ...whats up on this, also oil soaked carpet on logs, what are they doing with the cresote and how about the diesel soaked corn?? Think the answer to the corn is to stop birds and other game form eating it, we can't bait anyway.
quess they will eat about anything, even fennel that nasty licorice type weed.

There are more pics on this post by ol Jim, yes I know the first ones are a pipe corn feeder, scroll down.

The hogs rub on the cresote poles to help rid themselves of ticks and other parasites. The corn with diesel is to help keep the coons and other critters off the bait in the trap.

Hey killzone. I use diesel on the corn when I bait all of my hog traps. I only use just enough to coat the corn lightly. I usually put corn in a 3 gallon Galvanized pail and splash a little diesel on the corn and stir it up. It does keep the coons and other animals off of the corn(for the most part) and they love to roll in it as well. The diesel is like the creosote in that it helps keep the Lice, Tics and Fleas to a minimum. I use Diesel religously and think it works great. Everything in moderation though. It's not good for the environment to go pouring a bunch of petrolium products on the ground to disturb the woods. Like I said MODERATION is the key. Good luck. Adios'

Thanks for the comeback guys, looks like I will be coming down for a Texas Tbone steak dinner and some good hog hunting when it warms up a little more. Some of the other guys seem interested too.

Thanks for the posts,

Good hunting,
