Just picked up a spinning wing and 4 standing decoy Dove Mojos for 26 bucks New, didn't want to go over board.

Is there specific combinations that work best or is it throw them around any old way. Some times disarray works better than patterned?

I have both duck and dove Mojos, the best I can tell you is they work sometimes. It is hit and miss. Last time I was dove hunting, about 2 weeks ago, A guys set up close to us and his Mojo pulled in a lot of Euros. I usually don't take mine, I did however put them back in the truck for next Friday's hunt. I think one of the best ways to set them up is around roost trees or the end of a tree line you have scouted where you have seen lots of birds. I have a couple of extendable poles I use with them. I know others swear by them, they are about a break even deal for me. You shoot 10% more birds when you put them up, and 10% more after you take them down.

Set my mojo dove up on a cattle fence and the dove were landing under it. like they were getting faned by the spinning wings. they just sat there enjoying the breeze. i think it works well for dove and can be hit and miss for ducks.

Motion decoys will work, if the birds want to come in. I've had hawks dive on my sets. Motion seems to be a key...I watched a guy shoot over a sunflower wirly you'd put in your flower garden. My Mojo and 2 Mojo Thangs are mixed in with my regular decoys. Drawback is, keep track of your backstop, dove can come in low to set down in the decoys. You might cause you buddies some stress with low shooting.

I just use a real simple extension pole 3/4" emt outside and 1/2" emt inside, so one slides inside the other. Square tubing the size of the Mojo mount brazed to the top of the 1/2" inside emt. Brazed a 1/4" nut on the top of the 3/4' emt thread in a 1/4" thumb screw for a lock, and braze a 1 ft piece of 1/4" round stock, sharpened, to the bottom of the 3/4" emt to stick in the ground. Make them any height you desire. Wipe down with CLR, rinse and paint camo. I have also been using one of the static dove decoys to cast over a tree limb with a fishing pole, then hoist up the decoy and tie it off. Let us know how you think the Mojos work, I would be interested to hear. The most important part of successful dove hunting is scouting, putting yourself on the birds is way more important than decoys, poles, and other misc equipment.

I usually just leave the "decoys" where ever they fall after I shoot them.

Having worked with EMT for 40 years I can tell you that sliding one piece inside another is going to be stronger than using a coupling for supporting anything. Most T-bar ceiling guys drill holes through the 1/2 and 3/4 inch sliding section and you can then use a pin like a nail through those holes. You can make it adjustable by drilling more holes. A cordless drill woks great with self drilling screws but typically that is done for a one time set up. Of course this is for construction purposes but still it is working with EMT.
I don't own a mojo but I know guys who swear by them. I am lazy I just sit under a tree that they want to be in. :)

!4 bucks no stand, I got what I paid for. Yes over thinking is what I do, guess I have too much time on my hands.
Thank you John, one 6 foot 1" emt drill at top 3/8 wiz nut welded to it and a 1/2 wiz nut s welded inside the bottom to screw the ground spike into, the 6 foot 3/4 emt drilled and welded a 3/8 wiz nut to the top and the 6 foot 1/2 to finish up the hieght. On my first one I made I have a 1/2 emt cross bar for the Mojos to set on, from what I have read so far that could be a issue? Do you now what I need for the cross bar can it be round or does it need to be square?

Ok all done 3 6 foot sections 1", 3/4, and 1/2", EMT W/ 3/8 thumb bolts to secure them. figure 2 foot each stay in the tubes that would give me a Max hieght of 16', 1" aluminum chanel cross bar 5 foot across should provide plenty of room for the MoJos to perch on. now to try them!

Why on earth would you want to prop the decoys up 16' feet in the air? You're going to end up shooting the decoys at that height.

Got to get them up high enough for the dove to see, Maybe I'm a litle over zelous
But isn't it better to have more than less? it is adjustable for hieght may not need to go that high but if I do! I can!
Made it, didn't have to pay 40+ for a flimsy 6 foot T stand, I can store where I hunt, just seemed to be a good thing I guess

I use these extension poles in my decoy spread when shooting ducks out of my boat. Pretty nice if you are in 5ft of water.
