I dunno, I've been wondering for a while if I could train my mom's long dog here to do it, he's a 3 year old pembroke welsh corgi, bred for herding, I dunno...

Your Corgi is just the right height to spot those sheds. It just might work.

use a retriever..like a lab....they are made to bring things back...I think that you'll get pretty frustrated with the other breeds...they will find antlers and are great dogs but if you have a specific task i think that you are setting your self up for failure...

Please see my reply to your same question on Hunting Dogs Flushers and Retrievers..........bottom line, good way to ruin a good hunting dog....if you just gotta do it use a dog like suggested above.....a small dog specifically and only trained for this purpose.....easy to do just use a dog that loves to retrieve.....a Jack Russel would be a good choice as they are high energy and orginally used to hunt........after that the training is a piece of cake.....more on the other post.
